a surveyor in 1894, and used this wheelbarrow for his survey. On foot
he surveyed in just under eight months 2328 miles of San Diego county

Francis Lewis Blanc was the
first fulltime pastor of the Julian Baptist Church from 1893 to 1920.
He was also a contractor, judge,
merchant, and father of eight. |

Julian's Washington Mine

Washington Mine er den guldmine,
hvor der først blev fundet guld i Julian, hvilket gav
årsag til byens eksistens. Der er meget lidt tilbage af minen,
blot en mindesten og dette skur fyldt med gammelt mineudstyr.

Washington Mine is the goldmine
where gold was first found in Julian, causing the creation of the
town. Very little remains of the mine, just a memorial and this shed
filled with mining gear.
